Misty-Morning

I have painted in this area of Creve Coeur Lake Park numerous times, and in particular this scene. But that morning when I went to paint there in early autumn, it felt as though I stepped into a different world. The beauty was overwhelming, and seeing the deer peacefully roam the landscape, prompted me to add it to the painting. I took color notes and reference material and took the to my studio.

The delicate changes in values from one area to another made for a challenge and an adventure. I hope this painting will add a whimsical and inviting piece to your collection.
